Tarot Card Meanings

Before you are able to start “reading the cards” and start to benefit from studying their meaning, you need to learn the language being spoken.

These tarot card meanings are easy to understand and easy to build from for you to develop your own connection with your own tarot card deck.

Tarot Card Meanings – Start Here

The tarot deck has 78 cards, divided into two categories: The Major Arcana and the Minor Arcana.

The Major Arcana is made up of 22 cards that refer to the major themes and life lessons we experience in our lives. These are also referred to the Trump Cards

The Minor Arcana is four suits of 14 cards each, that speak to our daily experiences, including our wins, our losses, our inspirations and our pains.

The Major Arcana

The Major Arcana show us the stages we go through or experience as we grow and move through our life. These are universal, and they are deep and meaningful life lessons. We understand these cards on a very special meaning, as these do not speak to mundane or temporary occurrences.

In a reading, these are important cards to focus on, as they are broad in their application, and are repeatable themes we are experiencing.

The Minor Arcana

The Minor Arcana reflect our day-to-day lives. These are events, people, and situations which we react to and are forced to deal with. These are temporary, time-limited events and do not reflect broad life themes.

The Minor Arcana is divided into four suits, each representing a different part of our lives. Some decks may change the names, but the designations don’t. Each area is still represented.
